WW ll Veterans Honored

On February 12, 2013 the French bestowed their Legion of Honor, their highest honor for US Veterans who risked their life during WW ll to fight on French territory, to three Clermont County Veterans.

John Dinka of Batavia Township who made several parachute jumps behind enemy lines.

Don Fairbanks of Union Township who was a tail gunner on a B-24 with the "Carpetbagers" in the 8th Air Force . They flew supply missions to the French resistance at low altitudes and never went to the same location twice.

Carl Sims of Williamsburg who was with the 5th Army in France and landed on a French beach.

The ceremony took place at the Tri-State Warbird Museum.
